energy efficient

In the previous article, we wrote about how you can suffer from air conditioning disease if you are in an air conditioned environment for a long time. Today we will teach you how to use fans to create a cooler environment and save on the power consumption of air conditioning.

Household fixed speed air conditioners are represented by "HP" (horse power) to represent the output power of the air conditioner, where 1HP has an output power of about 800 watts, 1.5HP about 1200 watts, 2HP about 1800 watts, 2.5HP about 2200 watts, 3HP about 2800 watts and 5HP about 4600 watts. This means that one hour of use of a one HP air conditioner will use 0.8 kWh of electricity.

When the air conditioner is cooled down by 1°C, it will increase the power consumption by 10%.

When using the air conditioner normally, it is the most energy-efficient mode to set the degree to 26°C. So we will face a problem, air-conditioning to 20 ℃ power consumption, and adjust to 26 ℃ cooling effect is not good. So how can this problem be solved?

Although "air conditioning sickness" does not fit the definition of a disease per se and is not really a disease in medical terms, "air conditioning sickness" is a phenomenal description of the physical discomfort associated with the use of air conditioning. The most common manifestations of this phenomenon are coldness, pain and sweating.

Fans can accelerate the flow of air, through the wind to take away the body's heat, in a relatively closed space, the fan's wind can accelerate the indoor circulation of cold air, making the distribution of cold air more uniform, so that cooling to achieve the best results.

At the same time, the power of a fan or ceiling fan is generally around 50 watts, which is equivalent to the power consumed by an ordinary lighting lamp, and the power consumed overnight is very low, so the power consumption of reducing the air conditioner by 2 degrees is far greater than that of opening a fan.

When combining an air conditioner with a fan, the problem of coolness and energy efficiency is solved.

Real power savings can not be achieved by more than just adding a fan. Using a fan without changing the set temperature of the air conditioner is not only ineffective, but also a waste of power.

Setting the air conditioning temperature between 26°C and 28°C and using it together with a fan is one of the most energy efficient ways. The air conditioner can also be turned on low first, with the fan on a low setting, and then adjusted upwards when the room temperature drops. The power consumption at this point will be about 10% lower than if the air conditioner is turned on directly at a lower temperature.

The power consumption of an electric fan is proportional to the speed of the fan blades. For example, a 400mm fan consumes 60W when turned on for strong breeze and 40W when using a slow gear, and there is a 40% difference in power consumption between the fastest gear and the slowest gear of the same electric fan. It is not a bad idea to keep the air conditioning temperature unchanged, turn the fan on to strong air mode and then turn the gear down after the indoor air circulation.

Generally the room is kept cool for about 15 minutes. Turning off the air conditioning and ceiling fans ten minutes before leaving will not affect the temperature in the room and will save the maximum amount of electricity.

Overall, turning on the air conditioner and fan at the same time in summer is a good way to save energy and is also good for your health.
