Do you know how ceiling fan motors and speed controllers work theory?
The motor is one of the important components of the ceiling fan and plays a vital role in the overall operation of the fan.So how much do you know about ceiling fan motors? So how much do you know about ceiling fan motors? Now let me show you what the motor of a ceiling fan is.
In order for a ceiling fan to rotate, it needs an electric motor, also known as a "motor". The ceiling fan reduces the current by regulating the voltage, controls the speed and switches gears to change the size of the voltage and current in the power supply circuit, thus achieving the effect of changing the motor rate and changing the speed of the fan.
DC ceiling fans:
For DC ceiling fans, current flows through a magnetic field coil, which generates a magnetic force that produces the torque that makes the motors turn separately. Using the magnetic effect of electricity to drive the shaft to drive the fan blades, the advantages are energy saving compared to AC ceiling fans and no mechanical noise during operationand the process of running the motor cools it, thus extending the life of the fan, but the sales price is higher than for AC ceiling fans.
A speed controllers for ceiling fans, made up of three easily assembled and disassembled plug-in components, consisting of a base with a socket, a regulator body with a plug, an electronic regulator, a socket and a plug cover with a short-circuit plug. The speed switch that accompanies the ceiling fan is in fact an induction governor, internally a two-way thyristor control circuit triggered by RC, this speed knob is a variable potentiometer with a switch control function. We change the resistance value of the potentiometer, which means that we change the charging time constant for the capacitor, which changes the conduction angle of the thyristor, thus achieving speed regulation. The adjustable resistor is continuous and the change in capacitor charging time is also continuous, thus allowing for infinitely variable speed regulation.
In this way the ceiling fan connected in series in a 220V circuit gets an AC adjustable voltage. When running at full speed, the ceiling fan works at a voltage close to 220V. When we turn the knob of the speed switch to adjust the gear, then the voltage of the ceiling fan coil undergoes a speed reduction as the voltage drops.
This is how ceiling fan motors and speed controllers work. I believe that after reading this chapter you will have a clearer understanding of how ceiling fan motors work.
