World Earth Day|Caring for the environment around us, caring for our common home
22 April - World Earth Day, a holiday dedicated to the protection of the world's environment, Earth Day was initiated by Gaylord Nelson and Dennis Hayes in 1970.
In 1962, Nelson was elected to the United States Senate. As a new senator, Nelson believed that environmental issues needed to be of concern to the whole of America, but he found himself alone on the road. During his year in the Senate, only 20 of his 535 colleagues identified themselves as environmentalists.
In 1970, a nuclear plant leaked near the Savannah River in South Carolina. The United States was suffering from a polluted environment, with newer processes, cars and factories everywhere, and the American people were suffering from the exhaust fumes from cars and the uncontrollable smoke and sewage from factories. Nelson proposed that Earth Day be celebrated on 22 April 1970, the first time in the United States.
And Dennis Hayes, who was also an organiser, launched the first Earth Day on campus on 22 April 1970, a day when 20 million people attended the event across the United States. People held mass marches, rallies, speeches, held up models of a polluted earth, giant paintings and diagrams calling for a clean, simple and peaceful living environment.
On 22 April 1970, the first Earth Day event was held in the United States, the first ever mass environmental event in human history. As the beginning of the modern environmental movement, Earth Day was the catalyst for the development of environmental legislation in many countries. Nowadays, Earth Day is celebrated in 192 countries around the world, with over one billion people participating each year, making it the world's largest civic environmental holiday.

25 May 2020, the change in the mechanical properties of ABS wire during recycling has been studied at the Hellenic Mediterranean University. In the study conducted on the recyclability of 3D printed polymers, the recycling of ABS materials was found.
ABS is a non-biodegradable material, it is the second most popular wire after PLA (polylactic acid). Some plastic materials are weak stability and plasticity that they can only be disposed of in landfill after one use. Considering the high malleability of ABS, the best way to use it is to use it, recycle it twice, recycle it three times and reuse it four times ...... Keeping them out of landfill for as long as possible.
The scientists carried out an experimental simulation of the recycling process, extruding and moulding plastics into new parts to test their performance. The experiments mixed naturally degradable materials into a polymer matrix to effectively reduce the amount of virgin polymer waste, quantifying the impact of each stage of the re-cycling process.

The researchers purchased a vat of finely powdered ABS, which was drawn into 1.75mm diameter wire and the initial samples were tested for tensile, compression, bending, impact toughness and microhardness and the results recorded. The remaining diameter wire is recycled and re-drawn for use using a polymer shredder and its mechanical properties are monitored at each stage.

The final results of the experiment showed that the ABS samples were recycled a total of six times.
The discovery of multiple recycling of ABS material has raised the environmental performance of plastic supplies to a higher level. CF42-32CS (w) ceiling fan light is produced using ABS material, not only for its heat resistance and not easy to deform, but also for its environmental reuse performance, starting from the product material to protect the global environment.
